Let’s be honest: no one gets into nonprofit work for the glamor.

You show up for the mission. For the people. For the difference you believe in—even when the copier’s jammed, the budget’s tight, and the job description includes about 14 roles that weren’t on the original posting.

This Labor Day, I just want to say: your work matters.

To the program staff juggling 1:1 support and data entry. To the fundraisers writing emails at 9 p.m. because they finally found the right words. To the executive directors who feel the weight of payroll, outcomes, and their team’s wellbeing—all at once. To the volunteers, the board members, the admin assistants, the social workers, the outreach folks, and the ops geniuses who keep the lights on:

You are the heart of this sector.

And while the world may not always see the full picture of what you do—I do.

So this Labor Day, rest if you can. Refuel. Remind yourself that building a better world is work worth doing.

(And hey, if fundraising is the thing keeping you from that rest, I know someone who can help. Book a free discovery call. Let’s lighten the load.)
