It’s time for the warm fuzzies

Imagine me playing a harp, because I’m going to harp on donor stewardship before the holidays again. 🎶

Here’s the truth: saying “thank you” is the single best way to inspire your next gift. And it doesn’t have to be perfectly worded. Authentic always beats polished. People may forget the exact words, but they’ll never forget how you made them feel.

If you aren’t able to harness my free Thanksgiving card strategy (budget restraints are real), there are still plenty of ways to give your supporters the warm fuzzies before the biggest fundraising season of the year:

  • Pick up the phone. A two‑minute call or voicemail just to say, “We’re grateful for you,” leaves a lasting impression. 📞

  • Send a quick personal email. Not a Mailchimp blast. Just a short note from your work account. ✉️

  • Tap a volunteer. If the ED doesn’t have time, ask a trusted board member or volunteer to reach out with a simple message of gratitude. 🙌

The point is this: before year‑end giving heats up, remind your supporters they’re more than a transaction. They’re part of your community. Give them the warm fuzzies now, and generosity will follow.
